Viu once again delights its legion of K-Drama fans with the announcement that One Ordinary Day will exclusively air on the OTT platform.
One Ordinary Day will star Kim Soo Hyun, known for his roles in the hit dramas It’s Okay Not To Be Okay and My Love From The Stars. Cha Seung Won (Hwayugi: A Korean Odyssey, Sinkhole) and Lee Seol (D.P., Less Than Evil) will also join him in this highly-anticipated crime-thriller drama.
One Ordinary Day will be a remake of the gripping British drama, Criminal Justice. After a night of fun and booze, Kim Hyun Soo (Kim Soo Hyun) finds himself a prime suspect in the gruesome murder of a woman he spent the night with. The case receives widespread attention and intense scrutiny from the public. This prompts the prosecution to eagerly put the case to a close and declare Hyun Soo guilty of the crime.
While all circumstantial evidence points to Hyun Soo, Shin Joong Han (Cha Seung Won) believes that Hyun Soo is innocent. Joong Han is a small-time lawyer who barely passed the board exam, but he was the only one willing to take Hyun Soo’s case on. The two now join hands in this battle against Goliath to find who the real killer is and maneuver their way around the country’s taxing justice system.
One Ordinary Day is set to air on November 27, 2021. It is produced by Chorokbaem Media (Penthouse, Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung), Studio M, and Gold Medalist (It’s Okay to Not Be Okay). Kwon Soon Gyu of The Royal Gambler and Warrior Baek Dong Soo fame wrote the drama. Lee Myung Woo (Backstreet Rookie, The Fiery Priest) is also at the helm of the series as its director.
While waiting for the premiere of One Ordinary Day, viewers can now stream the fantasy historical romance drama, Lovers of the Red Sky—another Viu original. Set during the Dan dynasty, the series stars Ahn Hyoseop, Kim Yoo Jung, Gong Myung, and Kwak Si Yang.
On the other hand, Song Hye Kyo and Jang Ki Yong will headline another Viu original, Now We are Breaking Up. This upcoming melodrama is set to air on November 12, just days before One Ordinary Day begins. November surely is a good month for the K-Drama lovers out there, and it’s all thanks to Viu.
